A promising unplanted parcel lies in our vineyard's northern tip. It inspires a curious question, 'what's next'? Perhaps Sauvignon Blanc, a varietal that has shown great success in other cool climate regions with similar limestone soils. This EXPLORE project gave our winemakers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with potential new plantings, while crafting this fine example of barrel-aged Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting Notes
Our very first endeavor into making Sauvignon Blanc. Expect ripe with exotic fruits like lychee, passionfruit and guava, plus the classic herbal characteristics of the variety on the nose. The palate starts lush with a creamy texture imparted by the oak-aging, then the zesty acidity reminiscent of grapefruit juice balances the wine through to the finish.Winemaker Notes
After years of proving that our core varietals were perfectly suited to our vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench, we decided to explore what else may work out on home farm. An opportunity to work with Sauvignon Blanc seemed like a fun way to see if this is something we wanted to make long term. Finding the right amount of oak, and right amount of aging was thrilling as we fine tuned this final, fumé-style Sauvignon Blanc.Wine Profile
