A promising unplanted parcel lies in our vineyard's northern tip. It inspires a curious question, 'what's next'? Perhaps Gamay, a winter-hardy varietal that is gaining momentum in Niagara as a consistent and high performing grape. This EXPLORE project gave our winemakers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with potential new plantings, while crafting this spectacular example of Gamay.

Tasting Notes
The first ever bottling of a single-variety Gamay from Flat Rock. Lightly pigmented in the glass and bursting with aromas of red cherries and crushed raspberries on the nose. Spice comes across in cinnamon and black pepper notes. Light-bodied and slightly tart, it's best to enjoy with a slight chill.Winemaker Notes
A fresh fruity red variety that is basically the younger, spicier version of our beloved Pinot Noir. A grape that can withstand our winters, ripen beautifully in our growing season, and offers flexibilty from bubbles, to red blends? Gamay was an easy choice to experiment with. This fruit forward, spice driven red, has a stunning colour and bright acidity that lends itself to any casual or decadent food pairing.Wine Profile
