History can inspire and inform the present. What happens when you allow a wine to be made using only techniques from the past?
This project is the ultimate expression of hand-crafted. Using traditional methods we hand-picked, hand-sorted, hand-plunged, hand-pressed in an antique wooden basket press, hand-bottled and hand-labelled. We went the whole nine yards with our own two hands.

Tasting Notes
Flat Rock’s fresh take on an ancient style of wine. Our NOT BLUE, also known as orange wine, was hand-crafted in every sense of the word. We hand-picked & hand-sorted Riesling and Gewürztraminer grapes and fermented them in an antique wooden basket press. We hand-plunged & hand-pressed to produce a wildly aromatic and esoteric charmer. On the nose there are notes of orange, tangerine and poached pear, complimented by fresh ginger and winter spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is phenolic and textural with bright acidity serving as the backbone of the wine. Food-friendly and fabulous!Winemaker Notes
There is a lot to be learned when you decide to put a little skin in the game. With the imaculate fruit that came off the vine in the 2020 vintage, we were able to take a little liberites with our flagship white varietals, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. With 30 days on the skins, this aromatic, spicy skin-fermented white was a trial that will be repeated over and over again.Wine Profile
