We have put together 4 stunning examples of terrior in Ontario. 2 wines from our vineyard and 2 from other wineries to share each other's distinct diversity and spread the joy of Ontario's finest.
2016 Bachelder Chardonnay Niagara Peninsula
Lifted, enticing orange-peel aromas, fresh mint and a faint mealy note too. Intriguingly edgy – almost a bit like a low-sulphur-style, although there’s nothing unfresh here. Loads of cereal and dried hay on the finish – lovely to taste such esoterica within Chardonnay.
2015 Stratus Weather Report Cabernet Franc
At Stratus, our vineyard’s voice is defined as much by the soils underfoot, as the shifting weather patterns above. Our Weather Report series is ever-changing – each wine, an individual snapshot of a growing season and the diverse varietals that make up the small blocks of our 55 acre vineyard.
2013 Flat Rock Cellars Gravity Pinot Noir
Flat Rock Cellars is located on the Niagara escarpment in the Twenty Mile Bench appellation, atop deep limestone soil which is ideal for growing Pinot Noir. Gravity is our benchmark Pinot and is carefully block and barrel selected by our winemaker to a more robust, structured style and aged in fine French oak for approximately 12 months giving the wine the ability to hold up to cellaring for many years or enjoyed upon release with a great meal.
2016 Flat Rock Cellars Nadja's Vineyard Riesling
Nadja’s Vineyard is always hand picked from a prized single block on the summit of our property where Riesling always seems to show its best. Planted in 2001, the vines are coming of age and continue to express the unique terroir of this small block. Each year we work diligently to create a wine that shows perfect balance & beautiful purity.
