2011 Pond Block Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes
Fruity & ready to drink early. Aged in a Sirugue Barrel, 1 year old, favoured for its sweet spice character.Vineyard Notes
Located west of our pond catching the evening sun. Clone 777 gives a light structure and colour.Production Notes
All of our Pinot Noir wines are essentially made in the same fashion - hand picking, sorting, destemming and fermented in stainless steel vats with all the tools to make the best wines possible. In the summer of 2012, a selection of 12 barrels were put aside - 4 each from what we felt were the 'best expressions' of these particular blocks within our Pinot Noir blocks. A decision was made to keep these wines in neutral oak until the late winter of 2013. The wines were racked, blended and then bottled -- all with the intent to capture the true nature of these 'micro block' wines.Wine Profile
