2016 Pinot Noir
The 2016 Pinot Noir was sourced exclusively from estate fruit and was blessed with an amazing warm, dry summer. The lack of rain really helped ward off disease pressure and ensured beautiful ripeness to this heartbreak grape. The warm days, paired with cool fall evenings, allowed for slow even maturity throughout the vineyard. Picking over a period of two weeks we were able to capture the bright acidity along with the rich fruit characteristic Pinot Noir is great at showing off. The fruit was hand-picked and hand sorted to ensure only the best clusters made it to the fermenter. The wine was aged in French oak for a period of 10 months, with 20% of the oak being new. As a blend of various blocks throughout the vineyard, the wine is truly an expression of the diversty of Pinot Noir.
